General
information
|
Founded in 1854, but home to native Indian tribes long
before that, Omaha is located roughly in the middle of the eastern border of
Nebraska, on the west bank of the Missouri river. Originally the capital of
the Nebraska Territory,
it lost this status when the state of Nebraska
was formed in 1867.
Historic Old Market District offers a wide range of fabulous restaurants and
unique shops within walking distance of the redeveloped riverfront. There you
will enjoy the magnificent views of the great Missouri River, where Omaha
laid its roots over 150 years ago. There you will witness construction of the
Missouri
River Pedestrian Bridge, the 1st
pedestrian bridge to ever link 2 states
