Prof. W.B. Lee
Prof. W.B. Lee is Director of the Knowledge Management Research Centre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.    Prof. Lee is the editor of the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems, and International Journal of Knowledge and Systems Science. He established the Knowledge Solution Laboratory, the first of its kind in Hong Kong and has pioneered research and practice of knowledge management and knowledge audit in various organizations.  Prof. Lee and his team have launched Asia’s first on-line MSc. Program in Knowledge Management.  His research interest  includes manufacturing systems, knowledge management, organizational learning and intellectual capital-based management.

Prof. Eric Tsui
In his academic capacities, Eric has designed and delivered KM, AI, BPR, Portal, BPM, and MIS courses at the University of Sydney, University of Technology, Sydney, University of New South Wales, RMIT University, University of Kentucky, Stellenbosch University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and City University of Hong Kong. He is the program leader of Asia’s only master degree in Knowledge Management which is delivered in a blended learning environment. He is a recipient of the High Impact Award 2008 and a finalist of the Teaching and Learning Innovation Award 2009 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has B.Sc. (Hons.), PhD and MBA qualifications


Appointed as the Professor of Knowledge Management at the Knowledge Management Research Centre, Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the President’s Distinguished Professionals Scheme in September 2002, he joined the university as a full time staff in March 2005. In the past 5 years, he has delivered numerous public and custom-designed knowledge management and technologies workshops. He has also consulted for many government departments and private organizations in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei.

Stephen Selby
Stephen joined the Hong Kong Government in 1978.  He became the Director of Intellectual Property in 1994.Mr Selby heads a government department of about 170 staff, responsible for maintaining the Hong Kong SAR’s Trademarks, Designs and Patents Registries.  The Department is also responsible for the promotion of Intellectual Property protection in the Hong Kong SAR, and for the preparation and maintenance of legislation to protect intellectual property in line with international standards and norms. Mr Stephen Selby served as Chair of the APEC Intellectual Property Experts’ Group (IPEG) from 2008 – 2010.

Professor Leif Edvinsson
Professor  Edvinsson
is a key pioneering contributor to the theory of Intellectual Capital and sometimes named as the Grandfather of IC. As the world’s first director of IC in 1991 he initiated the creation of the world's first public corporate Intellectual Capital Annual Report 1994, and inspired the development ever since on IC metrics. He was parallel to that starting the Skandia Future Center as a Lab for Organisational design, one of the very first in the World in 1996, and now being followed by many in various parts of the world. During 1996 he was recognised with awards from the American Productivity and Quality Centre, USA and Business Intelligence, UK, for his pioneering work on IC. In 1999 noted as Most Admired Knowledge Award on Knowledge Leadership.  He was also awarded The KEN Practitioner of the Year 2004, from Entovation International, where he also is an E 100.  In January 1998, Leif received the prestigious Brain Trust "Brain of the Year" award, UK.  In 2006 also listed in a book by London Business Press, as one of The 50 Most influential Thinkers in the World. He is listed in Who’s Who in the world. Also associate member of The Club of Rome. He is also Cofounder and Chairman of The New Club of Paris, focused on the Knowledge Economy initiatives.Leif has his education from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, as MBA and Lund University, Sweden, as civilekonom. He is the author of numerous articles on the service management and on Intellectual Capital. In March 1997, together with Michael S. Malone, he launched one of the very first books on Intellectual Capital. Leif is serving on the Board of Directors of several knowledge intensive enterprises among others earlier the Swedish Brain Research Foundation as well as for many years the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2000 he has been the Honorary Chairman of the UK based Henley College, KM Forum. Since 2000, he has been the world’s first Professor, adjunct at Lund University on Intellectual Capital. In January 2006, he was also appointed professor adj. at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and later promoted to Chair Professor in 2007.

On September 2008, Nima joined University of Strasbourg as a Ph.D. candidate in the field of Management of Innovation. He holds a Bachelor in Computer science (Iran) and Master  of Strategic Marketing (Cranfield - UK); has experienced working with different UN agencies such as ITU in Geneva , UNECA in Addis Ababa, UNIDO and UNDP in Tehran; member of organizing committee of ACDD 2010 Strasbourg University ; International correspondent of La Gazette Cournot ; Chairperson of innovation sessions at ACDD 2009 University of Strasbourg.

Eduardo Rodriguez
Eduardo has over twenty years of management experience in the insurance and banking industry working on top management and analytics positions. Currently, he is Principal of IQAnalytics in Canada,  Director of PRMIA (Worldwide Professional Risk Managers Association) Ottawa’s Chapter, Director of the Strategic Intelligence and Risk Program at the UNAD National Open and Distance University in Colombia S.A.,  Quantitative Analyst at EDC Export Development Canada in Ottawa. He possesses a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, an MBA, an MSc Degree in Mathematics, certification from the Advanced Management Program at McGill University and currently he is a PhD Candidate at Aston Business School in the UK writing his thesis in the field of Knowledge Management applied to Enterprise Risk Management.


His experience in risk, strategy and in knowledge management includes the development of risk classification tools and knowledge management tools for supporting risk management, creation of strategic, technical and operative marketing models to customize products. For many years he has been involved with academia as part time professor in the fields of mathematics and operations research, and as a trainer of professionals in business. He has published four books in the fields of risk management, knowledge management, operations and a new field called Mathematical Management. He participates actively presenting his research in international conferences and as part of the committee of the European Knowledge Management Conference 2008,2009, 2010.

Esra Bektas
Esra is currently undertaking her PhD research in Design and Construction Management Section of the Real Estate and Housing Management Department, in TU Delft. She has a bachelor degree on architecture from Gazi University of Ankara, Turkey and a Master of Science degree from Erasmus University of Rotterdam and Lund University, Sweden. Before involving her PhD research in TU Delft, she worked six years in total in architectural practice. She specialized on designing large scale building projects in Turkey, Kosovo, Pakistan and Dubai since 2005. In September 2007, she was appointed to her PhD Research; “design knowledge integration in large scale building projects” in Delft University of Technology. In her research, she has worked with Arup London Office and the DHV Group, a global provider of consultancy and engineering services in the Netherlands.

Mary Adams
Mary is the co-author of Intangible Capital: Putting Knowledge to Work in the 21st Century Organization, in markets from Praeger/Greenwood Press in May, 2010. She is also the author of the Smarter Companies Blog and the creator of the IC Knowledge Center, an on-line community with open resources and discussions about intangible capital. At I-Capital Advisors, she helps companies grow by leveraging their intangibles. Kimiz Dalkir
Kimiz is currently an Associate Professor in the McGill School of Information Studies, where she developed and now coordinates the Knowledge Management stream.  Her book, Knowledge Management in Theory and Practice, has been widely adopted by both the academic and practitioner communities. In 2006, she received the Faculty of Education Excellence in Teaching Prize.  Her most recent research grant is to investigate how knowledge management can be applied to universities.  Prior to joining McGill University, Dr. Dalkir was Director of Global KM Services at DMR Consulting where she was actively involved in knowledge transfer to clients around the world.

Dr. Rivadávia Correa Drummond de Alvarenga Neto

Rivadávia Correa Drummond de Alvarenga Neto is Professor at Fundação Dom Cabral (
www.fdc.org.br), a Brazilian business school ranked the 16th best business school in the world and the best one in Latin America according to the Financial Times Executive Education ranking 2008. He holds a PhD in Information Science and is currently working in his Post Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Information of  the University of Toronto, Canada, hosted by Dr. Chun Wei Choo. Rivadavia speaks regularly on the subject of knowledge management and he conducted the first in depth qualitative study within the Brazilian organizational context in 2005. Since 2001 he's been working with many international firms, such as Petrobras, Embrapa, ONS, Astra Zeneca, Linde, ABN Amro Bank, Anglo American, among others. Kevin J. O Sullivan is assistant professor of management and director of global academic administration at the New York Institute of Technology, USA. He has more than 16 years of IT experience in multinational firms and consulting both in the private and public sector in American, Middle Eastern, European, and Far Eastern cultures. Dr. O Sullivan has delivered professional seminars to global Fortune 100 organizations on subjects such as global collaboration, knowledge management, information security, and multinational information systems. His research and development interests include knowledge management, intellectual capital security, and information visualization. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management and is associate editor of VINE: The Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems. Dr. John Girard

John Girard is an Associate Professor of Business Administration and Business Information Technology at Minot State University where he is lead professor for knowledge management, director of a graduate executive program, a faculty senator, and active in community affairs. John teaches graduate and undergraduate courses and is actively researching the relationships that exist between information anxiety, organizational memory loss, and contemporary knowledge management theories. John is a graduate of Touro University International, where he completed a PhD in Business Administration and an MBA with an Information Technology Management concentration and the University of Manitoba where he achieved a BSc with a Computer Science major. In addition, John is a graduate of Canadian Forces College, Toronto and the Royal Military College of Science in the United Kingdom.

Sheryl Buckley

Sheryl Buckley is a Deputy Head of Department in the Department of Business IT, at the University of Johannesburg, specializing in Business Information Systems, Financial Information Systems, Information and Knowledge Management, Management Information Systems and Business Fundamentals.  Sheryl previously taught at a High School for 10 years and at a Technical College for 10 years before joining the University in 2000.  Sheryl is a member of the Computer Society of South Africa, the South African Institute for Management Sciences and the Knowledge Management Practitioners Group.  She is also a Examiner for the Gauteng Department of Education.  Currently working towards her PhD in Knowledge sharing in communities of practice in HE institutions.

Roy Williams

Roy Williams develops and manages e-learning and knowledge management for the University of Portsmouth, and for w.w associates in Reading, both in the U.K. His research includes the practical design development of knowledge and e-learning systems, the theory of knowledge and knowledge management, discourse analysis and semiotics, and the application of discourse analysis and complex adaptive systems theories to management and development issues. He is actively involved in the European Conferences on e-learning and Knowledge Management, and edits the Electronic Journal of e-learning. He has held posts of Visiting Professor of Education, Professor and Chair of Communication, and Executive Board Member and CEO of the South African Broadcast Regulator. Jose M. Viedma is a Doctor of Industrial Engineering, a Graduate in Economics and Professor of Business Administration at the U.P.C., Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. He teaches on the subject of knowledge management, intellectual capital management and organisational learning.  He has held top executive positions in computer services and management consultancy firms.  He is the president of “Intellectual Capital Management Systems”, the founding partner of “ M & A Fusiones y Adquisiciones” and  the Independent Director of Interlace.  He is a regular speaker in International conferences and congresses on Knowledge and Intellectual Capital Management such as World Congress on Intellectual Capital and Innovation and European Conference on Knowledge Management.
