| There has been a lot of discussion on the topic of Knowledge Management (KM), its concepts, practices, tools and metrics. In spite of that, we´ve noticed a lack of discussion about the implementation of KM processes. How is it done? How is KM implemented? How is the process designed? What are the problems that occur in implementation? What about the organizational barriers and impact in the organizational model/structure? How long does it take to succeed? This mini-track is focused on the implementation of KM processes in organizations. We welcome case studies, proven or designed methodologies and relevant experiences in implementation that succeeded or not. This mini-track is open to both academics and practitioners. | |

| In a world of global business, the need for effective knowledge sharing processes in international settings increases. In a global economic recession, the need to share knowledge with less face-to-face communication will be affected since international travelling will decrease. Companies will have to deal with this issue to be able to use the company resources that are spread all over the world. How is knowledge sharing managed? What enablers/disablers are there in knowledge sharing in international settings? How is the knowledge sharing process organized? How is knowledge sharing processes implemented in mergers or other forms of co-operation? This is an area of high industrial and practical relevance, but academics are of course also welcome to contribute to this track. | |

| Virtual environments are often referred to as ‘’new working environments’’. In fact users of digital instruments, such as information systems engineered by data processing equipment, that have been operated for decades, become more and more aware that they are embedded in the loops of virtual environments, all the more so since new paradigms thrust by technology such as cloud computing emerge. On one hand reality and virtuality turn strongly interwoven and their borderlines are perceived blurred. On the other hand the constraints of space and time imposed by the laws of physics on human activities are lifted through real-time distant interaction and software proxies such as avatars. New collaborative modalities are under development. The purpose of this track is to present the work in progress in the realm of virtual environments from different points of view in terms of applications. An interdisciplinary approach to this domain is required to ensure a successful dissemination of the usage of these new means of communication and collaboration. | |
