The conference will be located in the city of Kaunas, Lithuania. Kaunas, being the second largest city of Lithuania and the fourth largest in the Baltic states, is also called a city of academia and national thought. It is also an old city of Hanseatic League across the Baltics that shares a long tradition of international trade and partnership. The center of the city is located in the confluence of the rivers Neris and Nemunas and today is fully occupied by universities and students, and reserved for pedestrians only. For their convenience, also free Wi-Fi covered. Did you know, that Lithuania is ranked number 1 across Europe for the FTTH (Fiber to the home) penetration rate in Europe (according to FTTH Council Europe) and is among countries having the fastest Internet connection in the world (Speedtest.net) together with Estonia? We believe, it is the right place and moment to discuss the development of knowledge management here, in the Baltics. We are especially happy to host ECKM in Lithuania in 2013, the year of Lithuanian EU presidency! EU presidency is an important occasion to bring European and world KM community together to discuss knowledge management development research and practice perspectives and their impacts on the society and economy here in Lithuania, the modern European State, and push forward our ideas. Innovation, intellectual capital, productive and socially meaningful knowledge activities are at the core of the development of society, businesses, and organizations. Knowledge management emerges at the edge while discussing a variety of societal and development challenges, including economy, sustainability, security, welfare, health, citizenship and democracy. The ability to accumulate, integrate and transfer knowledge into the business and social innovations becomes a challenge, which is broadly addressed by the community of KM. Academic discourse on the knowledge management theory development, as well as the practical implications on building knowledge based dynamic capabilities of firms and organizations, embedding knowledge management practices in the organizational design, accumulating collective knowledge for innovation, linking networks and communities for knowledge synergies – only few of the wide range of issues to be discussed together. This conference aims to further that dialogue by attracting leading edge work that leverages the ECKM community's in-depth understanding of knowledge management and its impacts on innovation and societal development. Our aim is to stimulate breakthrough research streams linking innovation, dynamic growth and knowledge management. We are looking forward to seeing you in Kaunas! | | | | | | | Monika Petraitė Conference-Co-Chair | | | | | Your contacts for this conference are: | Important dates: | | | Abstract submission deadline: | 14 February 2013 | Extended until 1st March | | Notification of abstract acceptance: | 21 February 2013 | Completed | | Full paper due for review: | 4 April 2013 | Completed | | Notification of paper acceptance: | 13 June 2013 | | | Earlybird registration closes: | 27 June 2013 | | | Final paper due (with any changes): | 11 July 2013 | | | Final Author registration date: | 1 August 2013 | | Registration news Earlybird discounts are available until 27 June 2013. | Conference status Abstract submission is now closed. The review panel has completed the selection process for all abstracts received and the abstracts selected webpage lists the abstracts selected for submission as full papers. To protect the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, abstract titles and author details are separated. Titles are listed in no particular order and author names are listed alphabetically by lead author surname. The conference organisers have received multiple requests to extend the abstract submission deadline. The conference committee has kindly agreed to extend the abstract submission deadline until the 1st March 2013. The conference was launched at the close of ECKM 2012 in Cartagena, Spain. The abstract submission deadline is 14 February 2013. (extended until 1 st March 2013) Full papers are due not later than 4 April 2013. Authors are advised that this is a FINAL date. Earlier submission of the full paper helps us to manage the review process in a timely manner so if your paper is ready before 4 April 2013, we would be delighted to receive it early. This is of particular importance if you will need a visa to attend the conference. Please read the style guidelines document and the submission information page. Papers should be submitted as soon as they are ready as .doc or .rtf file attachments by email to the Conference Manager, Julia Hawkins with the paper submission checklist and copyright form, which are available from the download area on the top of the At a Glance page. Note to Authors: Due to the large number of papers expected for this conference, the committee prefers that an author presents only one paper. However, if multiple papers are accepted for publication and presentation, each paper requires a separate registration fee. Author registration (including payment) must be completed by 1 August 2013. | |
