| Ioannis Mavridis Ioannis is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems Security at University of Macedonia, Department of Applied Informatics, Greece. He holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras and a Doctor's degree in Mobile Computing Security from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He has been teaching Computer Science and Information Systems Security in the University of Macedonia and the Hellenic Open University for the last nine years. He is a member of the Greek Computer Society, the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Working Group 11.3 on Database Security of International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). He has participated in several research projects working on the area of IT security. His research interests include the areas of computer and network security, information assurance and security, cyber security, access control in collaborative, mobile, pervasive and grid systems, semantic web and security ontologies. He has published over 70 scientific articles in refereed international journals and conference proceedings, and co-written a book on information system and network security. |  Ioannis Mavridis |
| Vasilios Katos Vasilios is Assistant Professor of Information and Communications Systems Security at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, an MBA from Keele University and a PhD from Aston University in the UK. Prior to his current post he was Principal Lecturer at the School of Computing at the University of Portsmouth where he participated in the development of the interdisciplinary Masters course MSc in Forensic IT. He has worked in the industry as a security consultant as an expert witness in information systems security and delivered invited presentations at professional conferences. | Josef Demergis Josef holds a BA(Hons) in International Relations & Strategic Studies from the University of Lancaster. He has obtained a Master degree on War Studies from King’s College London as well as an MSc on E-Commerce from the University of Westminster. He also holds an MRes on Environment Society and Politics from King’s College London. He is currently a PhD Candidate of the University of Macedonia, with a research topic on the conduct of Electronic Foreign policy of the Hellenic State. Mr Demergis has written a variety of articles on subjects mainly dealing with strategy, defence, foreign policy and the use of information technologies. He is a guest lecturer at various military and police schools. He was also employed as a WTI expert of the Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe Thessaloniki Office. |  Josef Demergis |
| Dr. Marios Efthymiopoulos Marios holds a PhD from the University of Crete while a Scholar of the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation. He is a graduate from the NATO Defence College (NADEFCOL), during his tenure as appointee by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. He holds a Masters Degree from the University of Vienna -The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna- in International Relations. He attended the MSc in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and he also holds a BA (Hons) in International Relations and Politics by the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside. He has published numerous articles in Greece in relations to NATO policies and foreign policies of Greece. He has also several publications in various countries, namely the UK, Australia, Italy. His research is concentrated on issues of strategic studies and international relations. His latest book is titled -in Greek-: NATO's policies in the 21st century: The need for a renewed Security Concept and the ever lasting NATO-Russia Relations (Sakkoulas A.E Athens Thessaloniki -in Greek- Published date December 2008). | Dr Edwin “Leigh” Armistead Leigh is the Director of Business Development for Goldbelt Hawk LLC, the Programme Chair for the International Conference of Information Warfare and an Adjunct Lecturer for Edith Cowen University in Perth, Australia. He has written nine books, 18 journal articles, presented 17 academic papers and served as a Chairman for 16 professional and academic conferences. Formerly a Master Faculty at the Joint Forces Staff College, Leigh received his PhD from Edith Cowan University with an emphasis on Information Operations. | Dr Andy Jones Andy Jones has a background in Military intelligence and security research. After completing military service he ran the UK defence research IW group before moving to University to lecture on the subject and to the British Telecommunications Security Research Labs where he continues to carry out research in the area. | Marja Vuorinen Marja is a social science historian at the University of Helsinki. She is a student of power and elites, specialising in media studies and the history of ideas. Currently she is putting on the finishing touches to her doctoral dissertation, dealing with the Finnish nobility as the ‘good enemy’ of the progressive 19th century intelligentsia. She is keen to move on, to apply her semiotic tool kit to other historical enemy images. | |

| Eric Adrien Filiol Eric has been an officer in the French Army for 20 years. He is now head scientist officer and professor in a research lab working for different department in France (justice, police, defence, academic). He holds a PhD in mathematics and computer science, a habilitation thesis in computer science, an engineer diploma in cryptology and has graduated from NATO in InfoOps. | Dr Pertti Kuokkanen Pertti received his D.Soc.Sc degree in communication and computer science from the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 2009. He conducted post-graduate research in computer science with primary interests in modelling of decision support applications. | Dr Jari Rantapelkonen Lieutenant Colonel Jari Rantapelkonen has graduated from the Finnish Military Academy in 1987. LtCol Rantapelkonen holds a doctor of science (military) degree from the National Defence University. He has also graduated from the University of Helsinki holding a licentiate of political science in international affairs. His current assignment is a Commanding Officer for the C4 School. | Professor Steven Furnell Steven Furnell is the head of the Network Research Group at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, and an Adjunct Associate Professor with Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. He specialises in computer security and has been actively researching in the area for fourteen years, with current areas of interest including security management, computer crime, user authentication, and security usability. Prof. Furnell is a Fellow and Branch Chair of the British Computer Society (BCS), a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a UK representative in International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) working groups relating to Information Security Management (of which he is the current chair), Network Security, and Information Security Education. He is the author of over 160 papers in refereed international journals and conference proceedings, as well as the books Cybercrime: Vandalizing the Information Society (2001) and Computer Insecurity: Risking the System (2005). | Debi Ashenden Debi is a Senior Research Fellow within the Defence College of Management and Technology at Cranfield University. Prior to taking up this post she was a Managing Consultant within QinetiQ’s Trusted Information Management Department (formerly the Defence Evaluation Research Agency). Specialising in information assurance in general, and risk assessment in particular, other specific areas of interest include building trust for information sharing, governance processes for information assurance and information security awareness. Debi has worked extensively across government, defence and the finance sector as a consultant and her work concentrates on understanding the role of individuals in ensuring that security risks are mitigated. Debi has had a number of articles on information security published, presented at a range of conferences and has co-authored a book for Butterworth Heinemann ‘Risk Management for Computer Security: Protecting Your Network & Information Assets’. | Tim Parsons Tim is a Senior Manager at Detica, working in the area of Business Resilience. Prior to this position he was Head of Information and Security Systems within the Strategic Business Development group at BAE SYSTEMS Farnborough. Tim has a specific interest in the business and enterprise impact of Information Management issues, Information Assurance and emerging trends across a range of ICT areas. Tim has contributed widely to initiatives across UK Government and to the definition and progression of NATO and EU research programmes in these areas. He has presented internationally in the areas of Information Assurance and Critical Information Infrastructure Protection.
