| Dr Susana Rodrigues Susana Rodrigues is fellow of the Research Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP) and the Research Centre for Sustainable Management (CIGS) at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal. She was awarded a Ph.D. degree in 2002 in Strategic Management by the University of Wolverhampton, UK. She lectures advanced strategic management and marketing courses in management master degree programmes at the School of Management and Technology (ESTG), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Portugal. She is also lectures in strategic management in advanced training courses for executives. She does consultant work in strategic management and strategic marketing. Her research interest comprises a wide range of topics within the field of strategic management, namely business strategy, business failure, innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge management. |  Susana Rodrigues |
| Florinda Matos Florinda Matos is a Ph.D. student, in the area of Human Resources, at ISCTE Business School, Lisbon University Institute. She is a researcher at the Management Research Center – MRC. She was awarded a Master of Science in Management by ISCTE Business School. Her Doctorate’s research focuses on intellectual Capital Management. Her research interests include business strategy, organisational change, innovation, knowledge and intellectual capital. She is lectures organisational behaviour in the management programme at ISCTE Lisbon University Institute. She has been working as a business consultant, especially in the area of human resources and organisational strategy. | Professor Albino Lopes Professor Albino Lopes is Associate Professor at ISCTE-IUL Business School – Lisbon, Portugal. He is fellow of the Management Research Center (MRC) at ISCTE-IUL Business School – Lisbon, Portugal. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Psychology at Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. He has been invited as a conference key note speaker in the area of the human resources management. He lectures in leadership, organisational behaviour and human resources. He is expert in advanced training courses for executives. He is author of a number of books and has published many articles in refereed Journals and in refereed international conferences in the field of human resources and organisational behaviour. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of several academic journals. He has supervised and examined several PhD theses and master dissertations. He has extensive experience as a consultant both in private and in public companies. | Professor Paulo Rita Professor Paulo Rita is currently Director of the Management Research Centre (MRC) and Full Professor of Marketing at ISCTE-IUL Business School – Lisbon, Portugal. He is the Coordinator of the Doctoral Programmes of the Management Department at ISCTE-IUL Business School. He obtained his Ph.D. in Marketing at Cardiff Business School, University of Wales, UK, and subsequently a Post Doctorate on Web Marketing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA. His current research interests are focused on E-Commerce, Business Intelligence, Consumer Behaviour, and Tourism Marketing. He has published several books, namely: “Advances in Doctoral Research in Management” (2006) published by World Scientific, “Expert Systems in Tourism Marketing” (1996) published by the International Thomson Business Press, and “Computer Modelling and Expert Systems in Marketing” (1994) published by Routledge. In addition to presenting numerous refereed papers at international conferences, he also has had a number of book chapters and many articles published in refereed journals. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of five academic journals, has supervised and examined a number of PhD theses and master dissertations. | Professor Alexandra Fernandes Alexandra Fernandes was awarded a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management at ISCTE-IUL Business School – Lisbon. Her Phd theme was: Typology of Organizational Learning in Portugal. She is lectures in Management Sciences Department at ISCTE. She is responsible for the Portuguese and English programmes in Human Resources Management, Management and Organizational Behavior in Bachelor’s and Master Degrees and Summer School. Her current research interests are Human Resource Management, Human Capital and Arts Management. She is Coordinator of Arts and Creativity Management and Entrepreneurship Post-Graduation at ISCTE. She is also the Coordinator of Art Markets Management Master at ISCTE/ Faculdade de Letras of Lisbon University. | Vitor Hugo Ferreira Vitor Hugo Ferreira is fellow of the Research Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP) at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal. Graduated in Economics by the University of Coimbra, in 2001. He worked as a client manager in a Banking institution in 2002. Since 2002 is working as an assistant Professor at the School of Management and Technology (ESTG), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Portugal. The main subjects taught are Principles of Management and Management and the Economics of Innovation. He works as a business consultant. He finished his Masters in the Technical University of Lisbon, in 2006, presenting a thesis on competences, innovation and strategy in the Portuguese and Chinese mould industry. He is currently finishing his Ph.D on entrepreneurship, innovation and regional growth, and is linked to the DIME and ETIC networks. |  Vitor Hugo Ferreira |
| Silvia Ferrão Silvia Ferrão is graduated in Computer Management, by the Higher Institute of Languages and Management of Leiria – ISLA. She was awarded a postgraduate degree in computer engineering in systems and multimedia on Education, by the University of Coimbra, Portugal. She is currently doing her Ph.D on Knowledge Management, particularly on competences acquisition on Virtual Learning Environments in the University of Extremadura, Badajoz, Spain. She is a lecturer in computer management, at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal. She is Fellow of the Research Centre for Computer and Communications. | Göran Roos Göran is Honorary Professor at Warwick Business School in the UK, Visiting Professor of Innovation Management and Business Model Innovation at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Visiting Professor of Intangible Asset Management and Performance Measurement at the Centre for Business Performance at Cranfield University and Visiting Faculty at Helsinki School of Economics Executive Education at both Helsinki and Singapore. Göran is one of the founders of modern intellectual capital science and a recognised world expert in this field and a major contributor to the thinking and practice in the areas of strategy, innovation management and industrial policy. Göran is the author and co-author of over one hundred books, book chapters, papers and articles many of which have been recognised with awards. Göran was named one of the 13 most influential thinkers for the 21st Century by the Spanish business journal “Direccion y Progreso”. Göran has worked as a consultant in most OECD countries and has served in management positions in several European and US-based corporations and presently sits on several corporate advisory boards. | Dr Arminda Neves - Arminda has been Deputy Coordinator of the Lisbon Strategy in Portugal, since 2005.She has a PhD in Management and specialized in Management and Public Policies - Public Governance. A Professor at Evora University, her activities directly related to intellectual capital are: coordination in Portugal of The European Year of Creativity and Innovation, in 2009, Coordinator of the integrated program of innovation support (PROINOV) from 2000 to 2002 and manager of the reinforce program for health management duties, from 1999 to 2000. | Prof. Dr. Daniel Andriessen Dr. Daniel Andriessen is Professor of Intellectual Capital at INHOLLAND University of professional education, The Netherlands, and director of the INHOLLAND Centre for research in Intellectual Capital, a research group set up to study the impact of the intangible economy on people and organizations. Recently, his centre organized the very successful Intellectual Capital Congress 2007 in May in Haarlem (The Netherlands), a congress that will be repeated in May 2009 (www.iccongress.com). Through his Weightless Wealth Research Group he offers help to companies, governmental and educational organizations, academics, and students on the subject of knowledge management and intellectual capital valuation and measurement (www.weightlesswealth.com ). He is a popular speaker at conferences and likes to do guest lectures, presentations, and training sessions on a variety of subjects related to the growing importance of intangibles.Daniel received his Ph.D. degree at Nyenrode University in The Netherlands and he holds a masters degree in political and administrative science at the Free University, Amsterdam. His publications include Value-Based Knowledge Management: Creating the 21st Century Company: Knowledge Intensive, People Rich (Addison-Wesley, 1998), with Prof. Dr. René Tissen and associate professor Frank Lekanne Deprez. Together with Prof. Dr. René Tissen he wrote Weightless Wealth: Find Your Real Value in a Future of Intangibles Assets (Financial Times Prentice Hall, 2000). His PhD thesis was published in 2004 by Elsevier Butterworth Heinemann and was entitled Making Sense of Intellectual Capital; Designing a Method for the Valuation of Intangibles. In his recent research Daniel explores the role of metaphor in knowledge construction and science. When he realized that the term Intellectual Capital is in fact based on specific metaphors for knowledge he decided to analyze the various metaphors we use for knowledge and their impact on knowledge management. An analysis of metaphors in the work of Stewart, Davenport & Prusak and Nonaka & Takeuchi was published in the Journal of Intellectual Capital: Andriessen, D. (2006) On the metaphorical nature of intellectual capital: a textual analysis, Journal of Intellectual Capital, vol. 7 (1). | Prof. Dr Constantin Bratianu Prof. Dr. Constantin Bratianu is Head of the UNESCO Department for Business Administration, and Director of the Research Centre for Intellectual Capital, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania. His areas of interest in teaching and research are: knowledge dynamics, knowledge management, intellectual capital, and strategic management. | Professor Leif Edvinsson Professor Edvinsson is a key pioneering contributor to the theory of Intellectual Capital and sometimes named as the Grandfather of IC. As the world’s first director of IC in 1991 he initiated the creation of the world's first public corporate Intellectual Capital Annual Report 1994, and inspired the development ever since on IC metrics. He was parallel to that starting the Skandia Future Center as a Lab for Organisational design, one of the very first in the World in 1996, and now being followed by many in various parts of the world. During 1996 he was recognised with awards from the American Productivity and Quality Centre, USA and Business Intelligence, UK, for his pioneering work on IC. In 1999 noted as Most Admired Knowledge Award on Knowledge Leadership. He was also awarded The KEN Practitioner of the Year 2004, from Entovation International, where he also is an E 100. In January 1998, Leif received the prestigious Brain Trust "Brain of the Year" award, UK. In 2006 also listed in a book by London Business Press, as one of The 50 Most influential Thinkers in the World. He is listed in Who’s Who in the world. Also associate member of The Club of Rome. He is also Cofounder and Chairman of The New Club of Paris, focused on the Knowledge Economy initiatives.Leif has his education from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, as MBA and Lund University, Sweden, as civilekonom. He is the author of numerous articles on the service management and on Intellectual Capital. In March 1997, together with Michael S. Malone, he launched one of the very first books on Intellectual Capital. Leif is serving on the Board of Directors of several knowledge intensive enterprises among others earlier the Swedish Brain Research Foundation as well as for many years the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2000 he has been the Honorary Chairman of the UK based Henley College, KM Forum. Since 2000, he has been the world’s first Professor, adjunct at Lund University on Intellectual Capital. | Dr Robert Huggins Professor Robert Huggins is Director of the Centre for International Competitiveness at the Cardiff School of Management, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. | Dr Josephine Lappia Josephine Lappia is senior consultant at the Strategy Department of Rotterdam University of Applied Science and holds a PhD position at the Research Centre on Reinforcing Vocational Education and Training of the Institute of Teacher Training. She studied Organizational Psychology. Since 2005 she is involved in educational design science projects on work related learning. From 2004 until 2006 she worked at the Centre of Applied Research in Intellectual Capital of INHolland University of Professional Education. | Dr. Rongbin W. B Lee Prof. Rongbin W.B.Lee is the Chair Professor and Director of the Knowledge Management Research Centre, of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently a council member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council and a member of the assessment panel of the Innovation and Technology Fund of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Professor Lee is a member of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Learning and Intellectual Capital and the International Journal of Knowledge Science and Systems Science. He established the Knowledge Solution Laboratory, the first of its kind in Hong Kong and has pioneered research and practice of knowledge management in various organizations which include manufacturing, trading, public utilities, various government departments and health care. Prof. Lee and his team have launched Asia’s first on-line MSc. Program in Knowledge Management. | Dr João Leitão João is adjunct professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, School of Technology and Management, Portugal. He holds a Ph.D in Economics, from the University of Beira Interior (UBI), specialising in Market Dynamics and Entrepreneurial Pricing. He is a research fellow of the Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research IN+, Technical University of Lisbon. He is external research affiliate at the X-ENT group of the Max Planck Institute of Economics, Jena, Germany. His research focus on macro-determinants of technological entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial marketing, entrepreneurial behavior and management of SMEs. |  João Leitão |
| Dr Helen Paige Dr Helen Paige is the Founder and Director of The Paige Group, Adelaide, Australia. She holds an EdD from the Flinders University in South Australia. She was the Academic Director of the Master of Entrepreneurship at the University of Adelaide, and has lectured at the three South Australian universities in a variety of topics including Leadership, HRM and Management. With more than 20 years in corporate education, Helen has her own consultancy business, Advance Knowledge Networks, and consults in applied knowledge management, strategic business management, change management, and independent chairing and facilitation. She is also the Founder of a creative business – Fun.Food.Focus – which combines learning, training and educating through ‘hands on’ cooking. Helen’s research interests encompass a wide range of topics including – leadership, values and ethics; the knowledge-based economy and evaluating executive coaching as an executive learning tool. She is an internationally published author and a regular contributor to The Advertiser newspaper on business strategy. She is a Deputy Chair and Executive member of a number of organisations, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Policy and Administration; and degrees in law and social science. | Maria Weir Maria Weir is Operations Manager of the Intellectual Assets Centre in Scotland, and has played a key role in the Centre’s development. Maria’s areas of research interest include partnership development and performance management. Her recent work has focused on the development of intellectual asset management among Scotland’s business community, as well as being a key member of the team responsible for establishing the Intellectual Asset Centre as a leading international think-tank in the field of IA research. |  Maria Weir |
| Dr Piotr Wisniewski Dr Wisniewski is Associate Professor of Corporate Finance at the Warsaw School of Economics and has authored a doctoral dissertation on venture capitalism in Central Europe. Dr Wisniewski brings over a decade of executive experience in European financial services; associate membership of the Securities & Investment Institute (now becoming the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) and membership of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association. Dr Wisniewski holds a Visiting Professorship in Economics, Finance and Quantitative Methods at the International University of Monaco.
