The challenging theme of the Groningen 11th ECEL is

‘Beyond the Gadget: Designing for Effective Use of e-Learning’.

The Groningen ECEL 2012 conference team most cordially welcomes the European Conference on e-Learning in 2012 to the University of Groningen in Groningen, NL. Groningen, the capital of the North and its almost 400 years old University, offer an excellent and challenging environment for exchange of science and practices, approaches and experiences, visions and discussions in the dynamic field of e-learning.

The City with its old citadel offers a special and relaxing environment for both science and  social contacts. The University is right in the heart of the Old Town, still at the place where it was founded in 1614 by Ubbo Emmius. Being since ancient times the capital of the North, the City also accommodates the Provincial Residence. Over the Centuries it has kept  a close and protecting relationship with the surrounding farmland and its scenic, largely medieval, villages and towns. A perfect match for the balance between science, commerce and enjoyment!

Come to ECEL 2012 and let’s bring these things together!
