Mini track on Social Entrepreneurship
Track co-chairs:
Dr Heather Fulford, The Robert Gordon University, Scotland, UK and Dr Leo-Paul Dana, University of Canterbury, New Zealand

Through the Social Entrepreneurship track we propose to emphasise 'the social' that is connected with commercially contributing to solving problems of society, including sustainability issues. We expect the papers in this track to include the refinement of theoretical concepts and scholarly ideas regarding this area of research; the establishment of a research network for thought leadership and knowledge generation in social entrepreneurship; and the planning of future research.

Mini track on Strategies for raising finance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Developmental/Transitional Economies

Innovation and entrepreneurship are tightly coupled concepts. Innovation involves designing new ways of Recent research has revealed that the most important reason for entrepreneurship and innovation failures in Developmental and transitional countries is insufficient financial resources and its management.

This mini track aims at finding ways of closing this gap by conceptualizing and constructing strategies for raising finance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Developmental and Transitional Economies. It does so by outlining the sources and means available to Entrepreneurs and Innovators in Developmental and Transitional countries to raise and maintain fixed capital, working capital and growth capital.

Presenters are expected to focus on both theoretical and empirical approaches and provide examples of good practices that will ensure that small enterprises in developing world are guided towards the roadmap of sustainability.
