ECEG 2006: Venue and other Useful Information

Location

Marburg, a small, medieval town of 75,000 residents, is centrally located in Germany about one hour north of Frankfurt. Marburg’s quaint setting, warm hospitality, and thriving student population make it an ideal setting for a summer-long program.

Marburg’s main church, the Elizabethkirche, is the oldest pure Gothic church in Germany and one of the many historic treasures of the region.

The Landgrafenschloss, a medieval castle sits on a hill overlooking the town. The knight's hall in the building of William and the castle chapel originate from the 13th Century and are worth visiting.
